Traditional Medicine in Thailand is a rapidly expanding industry, creating new healthcare services and employment opportunities for thousands of Thai people each year. As one of the leading markets in the Asia-Pacific region, Thailand holds a significant share in the Traditional Medicine and Natural Products sector.
The increasing adoption of traditional medicine as a primary healthcare approach, alongside support from pharmaceutical companies, researchers, and policymakers, is driving market expansion. Additionally, factors such as the rising demand for natural medicines, government initiatives, and increased research funding for herbal medicine applications contribute to the industry’s rapid growth.
Thailand has a deep-rooted history of traditional healing practices, with knowledge passed down through generations. Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) integrates herbal remedies, massage therapy (Nuad Thai), energy healing, and spiritual practices. These methods remain widely practiced, particularly in rural regions, where local healers, or Maw Mor, play a crucial role in community healthcare. As Thailand continues to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science, the Traditional Medicine and Phytochemistry market is set for significant advancements, shaping the future of natural healthcare in the region.
